16 April 2017

The top F-Type model, the SVR, comes with a 575-hp, 5.0-liter V-8 that has an MSPR a sticker price of $126,945, including shipping.

The new four-cylinder is a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit making 296 horsepower and 295 lb. -ft. of torque.

The new 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder Jaguar F-Type is a lighter, more athletic, less expensive, most enthusiast-focused version of the British sports vehicle yet. "Not only is this the most powerful four-cylinder ever offered in a production Jaguar, it also develops the highest specific power and torque ratings of any engine in the F-Type range".

The new model will be available in the fourth quarter in Australia but won't be available with either manual transmission or all-wheel drive layout, instead only receiving a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive configuration.

The four-cylinder F-Type has a curb weight of 3360 pounds, a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds, and a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

Jackie Robinson a golden Dodger now immortalized in bronze
This is a tremendous way to pay respect to a man that did so much for the game of baseball and the larger society as a whole. This is the third straight year UCLA has unveiled special Jackie Robinson-inspired jerseys to honor his memory.

And since the F-Type is now three years old in its current generation, Jaguar has given new mag wheels and slightly massaged the front end with new LED lights and bumper.

The lightweight engine adds to the F-Type's dynamic ability, with 52kg being cleaved off the car's nose compared to the V6. In all cases, and as discussed extensively in relation to the Porsches, that's a lot of money for a vehicle with a four-cylinder motor, no matter how powerful and equivalently fast by the spec sheet.

Chief engineer Mike Cross said the aim was to make the F-Type "even more engaging and rewarding", and development has given it "an even better balance, an even more connected feel, and enhanced ride comfort Enthusiasts will want to drive this auto: this is a true F-Type with its own unique character".

Don't forget that the 400 Sport variant will join the 2.0T on the stand.

The Jaguar F-Type is indeed a one of a kind offering from Jaguar that packages years of heritage with oodles of power. But, the introduction of a version that might bring the sports coupe closer to more buyers was big enough news on its own. These systems help to improve safety and reduce driver workload, and include Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning as standard, and optional Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Speed Limiter and Driver Condition Monitor.
