Palestinians mark uprooting anniversary with sirens, marches

Trump, who will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on May 22 and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Bethlehem on May 23, has stopped short of recommitting to the goal of Palestinian independence, a longtime bedrock of US policy.

"We had extensive exchange of views on the situation in West Asia and the Middle East Peace Process", Modi said while jointly addressing the media with Abbas following the delegation-level talks here.

On Monday morning, Abbas was warmly welcomed by President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Modi at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
