AirAsia Group has again been named as the "World's Best Low-Cost Airline 2017" for nine years in a row at the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards held at Musee de l'Air et de l' Espace Le Bourget Airport, France. "The award is a welcome accolade and suggests that Fastjet is on the right trajectory", says head of the airline, Nico Bezuidenhout.
"This award is a testimony to IndiGo's continued success and the consistent strategy that has defined its unmatched performance, year after year".
"This award is a significant milestone in the transformation of Air Canada into one of the world's leading carriers and is all the more meaningful given the increased competition in our industry".
In addition, since the airspace closures began, the airline has been providing regular communications through its increased global call centre capacity and new, flexible call-back function on its Facebook page.
Asia's largest low-priced carrier won the accolades at the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards in the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace at Le Bourget Airport.
Fernandes said it also aims to recreate the company as a digital airline and use technology to drive more value. This year's survey polled more than 19 million passengers worldwide.

Other winners of the World Airline Awards include Garuda Airline (World's Best Cabin Staff), Saudia (World's Most Improved Airline), Bangkok Airways (World's Best Regional Airline) and World's Best Low-Cost Long Haul Airline (Norwegian Airlines).
Qatar Airways has flown into first place at the "Oscars of aviation", taking home the Airline of the Year award.
The award comes as the Doha-based airline struggles to deal with an attempt by Qatar's neighbors to isolate the country.
SKYTRAX attributed the awards to ANA's consistent pursuit of excellence in customer service, both in flight and on board.
Skytrax also hands out awards for various sub-categories, which include best cabin staff, best in-flight entertainment or best low-priced airline.
The carrier's fast growing fleet is contributing heavily to the economies in Europe and the U.S. It is the largest customer for the Airbus A350 and one of the biggest buyers of U.S. -made Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
