Obdulia Sanchez, 18, filmed her sister's bloody remains on the side of the road after the fatal auto crash in the Stockton area last Friday.
There were two more passengers in the vehicle.
According to a California Highway Patrol report obtained by PEOPLE, Obdulia was driving with Jacqueline and another 14-year-old girl in the back seat on Friday about 6:40 p.m.in Los Banos, California, when she lost control of her vehicle - ejecting the other girls, who were not wearing seat belts.
The case has garnered worldwide attention as a result of Sanchez livestreaming her actions on social media immediately prior to and after the accident. In the video, Obdulia raps along to the radio (sometimes taking her hands off the wheel) until everything goes blurry and screaming is heard; the 18-year-old is then seen outside the vehicle next to what appears to be the body of her sister, who has a large wound on her head.
In a live video following the crash, Sanchez continued her "live show", saying she killed her sister and did not care whether she will go to jail for life.
Obdulia is charged with DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. She remained in custody Monday in Merced County on suspicion of drunken driving and manslaughter, according to booking records.
Obdulia Sanchez's father, Nicandro Sanchez, told KFSN-TV, "It's an accident". They don't know that she's been a victim of human sex trafficking.
She faces a maximum sentence of 13 years, eight months in state prison if she is convicted of these charges. "I'm just happy she made this", 14-year-old Manuela Seja said. The District Attorney's Office said her blood alcohol level was at.10.

"I f***k**g killed my sister, OK?"
The video is so disturbing, it's reportedly been pulled from social media sites, but it still managed to be shown widely across the internet.
"I killed my sister, but I don't care", Obdulia said on Instagram video.
Manuela Seja, the teen who was with Obdulia and Jacqueline, has also spoken out, telling local media outlets that she doesn't "blame anybody" for the crash.
She speaks calmly at first in the video and then grows increasingly emotional.
One officer said, "I think when people have been drinking and they're under the influence of alcohol or drugs or a combination of the two, they may do things they won't normally do, like maybe getting on that phone when they know better". Manuela is choosing to focus on the good memories and the person Jacquelin was instead of her death. She was just amusing and she would be amusing.
