Shin injury rules Amir out of Sri Lanka ODIs

09 October 2017

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are all set to lock horns with each other in the second and final day-night Test on Friday in Dubai, ARY News reported.

Sri Lanka retained control of the Test, and by extension the series, thanks to Dimuth Karunaratne's 196 and a pair of sprightly fifties from Niroshan Dickwella and Dilruwan Perera.

Pakistan faced a awful and unfortunate defeat at the first Test against Sri Lanka and going to lost the series if cannot manage victory in second which is also last Test.

He also shared a century partnership with Chandimal for the fourth wicket to steady the innings after Lanka had lost two quick wickets in the second session of the day.

Sri Lanka became the first team to beat Pakistan at Abu Dhabi.

Pakistan were 51 without loss in reply in the day-night Test. Sami Aslam was 30 not out, and Shan Masood on 15. Chandimal, who was dropped on 1, was finally out for 62, bowled leg before by Yasir Shah. He returned to the dressing room for treatment after bowling just three deliveries of his 17th over. Captain Dinesh Chandimal can take a little credit as well - two of the wickets in this period came from overturning umpires' decisions, via reviews. Ironically, video replay showed the ball missing the stumps.

But Argentina, who won the World Cup in 1978 and 1986, were held to a goalless draw at home by Peru and are now seriously struggling to make it to Russian Federation .

Not only did Karunaratne play a watchful innings to give Lanka a steady start after the visitors elected to bat after winning the toss but he also anchored the innings from time to time to keep Pakistan at bay. Attempting to deliver the fifth ball of his 19th over, Wahab aborted his run up five times, failing, inexplicably, to get into his usual delivery slide.

If their performance in the tour thus far is anything to go by, then Pakistan will certainly miss Amir's services in the ODI series and hence should brace themselves for a tough assignment against a resuscitated Sri Lankan team.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test in Dubai will be broadcasted live on PTV Sports for & Sony Pictures Network on both SD and HD channels.
